Kernel installation and dkms driver build change

Today's updates will include a change in the way synaptic installs kernels in the main software section for PCLinuxOS (Bergamo/Mantova versions). If there are any additional kernel drivers such as the nvidia driver or the broadcom driver that needs to be built then it will do it during the synaptic kernel installation phase instead of building them on first boot of the new kernel. Please allow synaptic to complete the transaction. There may be a way to fork the kernel driver build process into a separate window so that synaptic does not appear to be hung up.

xorg crashes for amd radeon grapich card

Due to updates to the PCLinuxOS packages those with amd radeon graphics card may have a crash on the xorg server.

The problem is solved by booting the system to grub in recovery mode and typing the following command:

apt-get install kernel-amdgpu

Now You may reboot your system. That's all.

ArubaSign update problems

Due to the new ArubaSign setup not working on the Bergamo release, we had to downgrade the package, which now works. The only thing You should do is to refuse the required updates in order to have a working software. However, We are investigating the problem and We hope to resolve it as soon as possible.
